NORFOLK, Va. (November 11, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its women's volleyball weekly accolades where Howard University junior
Leah Reeves (Allen, Texas) earned the league's Setter of the Week for the seventh consecutive time. The announcement came Monday.
In Baltimore, Reeves and the Bison grabbed a pair of victories over Morgan State (Nov. 8) and Coppin State (Nov. 10). The Texas native racked up 100 total assists (12.5 per game), 19 digs, three aces, three kills and three total blocks. In Sunday's five-set win over the Eagles, she notched a double-double (59 assists & 14 digs) en route to HU clinching the regular season crown and top spot entering the MEAC Tournament (Nov. 22-24).
This season, Reeves leads the conference with 8.50 assists per game.
Juniors
Rya McKinnon (Hoover, Ala.) and
Claire Simpson (Plainfield, Ill.) received honorable mention.
Delaware State's Gerren Tomlin was named MEAC Player of the Week while Norfolk State's Jasmine Mataira was selected Rookie of the Week. Coppin State's Coco Figueroa received Defensive Player of the Week.
Friday (Nov. 15), Howard closes out the regular season against Norfolk State. First serve is slated for 6 p.m., inside The Burr.
