Columbia, Mo. (September 25, 2023) – Howard University women's golf team wrapped up day one at the Johnie Imes Invitational, hosted by the Mizzou Tigers, where they sit eighth overall in the team standings.
Collectively, the Bison shot 9-over par (297) after round one.
Reigning Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) leads the way, registering 1-over par (73) after 18 holes. On the day, the Los Angeles native recorded four birdies while shooting even (36) on the front nine. Currently, she sits tied for 18
th overall.

Morgan Horrell (Dallas) and two-time All-NEC selection
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) are tied for 26
th (74, +2) in the player leaderboard. Together, the Texas products produced five birdies on day one.
Florida International (FIU) sits atop the standings after shooting 6-under par (282), followed by Lipscomb at 2-under par (286).
Individually, FIU's Augustina Gomez Cisterna leads the pack with an impressive 7-under par (65) performance. Lipscomb's Lauren Thompson is second, recording 4-under par (68).
The second round begins at 9 a.m. (ET) / 8 a.m. (CT) Tuesday (Sept. 26), held at The Club at Old Hawthorne (par-72, 6,264 yards).
