HISTORY
Â
In 2023, Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) and the PGA Tour announced the launch of the Bridgestone Collegiate Development Program, an initiative within the PGA Tour's Pathway to Program. The program utilizes competitive opportunities and professional development workshop resources to help develop talent from diverse and underrepresented groups. The goal is to promote diversity in golf.
Â
The Invitational typically features 15 HBCUs in a three-round tournament and ends with a celebration of the top overall women's and men's teams. The winners earn a trip to TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, for the HBCU Performance Experience, presented by Bridgestone, making this a great opportunity for HBCU student-athletes to experience the competitive golf world.
