DULUTH, Ga. (September 4, 2025) – Howard University women's golf team began the fall season with a second-place finish at the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational. The three round event was held at TPC at Sugarloaf (par-72, 7,309 yards) in Duluth, Ga.
Overall, HU shot 40-over par (904) with three Bison finishing in the top 10.
Senior
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) led the charge, firing 4-over par (220) while earning second place.
Newcomer
Mia Melendez (Ann Arbor, Mich.) tied for fourth on the player leaderboard, recording 10-over par (226), while reigning NEC Golfer of the Year junior
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) earned sixth place (227, +11).
Sophomore transfer
Lena Durette (Scottsdale, Ariz.) placed just outside the top 10, taking 12
th overall (232, +16).
North Carolina A&T State won the 2025 Bridgestone Collegiate Invite, firing 30-over par (894). Ekaterina Prokharova led the Aggies, winning the individual medal with a 14-under par (202) effort.
Fieldings and Franklin will compete in the fifth annual Jackson T. Stephens Cup (Sept. 15-17), held at Shoreacres in Lake Bluff, Ill.
