EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 1, 2023) – Howard University redshirt junior
Wendesen King (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) made his Bison debut for the men's cross country team where he set a new program record at the annual Mount 5K Duals, hosted by Mount St. Mary's University.
The Ohio native took fourth overall after registering a new school benchmark in the 5K event (15:15.69). Recent graduate
Ayoade Adebiyi (Virginia Beach, Va.) set the standard last season.
Overall, HU finished fourth in the standings.
Newcomer and DMV native
Jayden Keels (Hyattsville, Md.) also made his collegiate debut, producing a 16:43.38 time.
Sophomore
Robert Golden (Orangeburg, S.C.) and third-year Bison
Kaleb Berry (Duncanville, Texas) rounded out HU with marks of 18:17.30 and 18:56.51, respectively.
Crosstown rival George Washington won the event, led by Ryan Fowkes winning the race (15:07.86).
On Sept. 15, Howard travels to Blacksburg, Va., for the Virginia Tech Invitational, hosted by the Hokies.
