GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (September 6, 2023) – Howard University men's golf team wrapped up its first fall tournament of the season at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, hosted by Michigan State University. The three-day event took place at the American Dunes Golf Club (par-71, 7,086 yards) in Grand Haven, Michigan.
Overall, the Bison shot 908 (+56) during three days of action, including 17-over (284) on day three.
On the final day, graduate
Everett Whiten Jr. (Chesapeake, Va.) had the best round of the tournament, shooting 1-under par (70) with six birdies. Overall, the Virginia native tied for 33
rd in the event.
Fellow graduate
C.M. Mixon (Bowling Green, Ken.) shot 3-over par (74) in round three and 11-over throughout the tourney. The Kentucky product finished tied for 48
th.

Joshua Siplin (Orlando, Fla.) and second-year Bison
Hugo Garcia (Dubai, AUE) combined for seven birdies in the final round.
Notre Dame rallied to win the 2023 Folds of Honor Collegiate, defeating host Michigan State by one stroke. The Fighting Irish shot 2-under par (282) in round three.
Individually, Kansas' Cecil Belisle held on to win by one stroke (-1, 212).
On Sept. 18-19, Howard travels to San Francisco for the Howard-USF Intercollegiate.
