CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (July 6, 2023) – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) revealed its 2022-23 All-American Scholar Team where Howard University had three Bison land on the list. The announcement came Thursday afternoon.
Juniors
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) and
Jada Richardson (Suwanee, Ga.) and sophomore
Morgan Horrell (Dallas) earned a spot after cumulating a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) or higher.
In June, the trio also received Northeast Conference (NEC) Academic Honors. Horrell and Richardson made the 2023 NEC Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll while Jackson landed on the league's Spring Honor Roll.
Overall, more than 1,400 women golfers from nearly 400 programs were acknowledged for this prestigious honor.
Along with a 3.5 GPA, a student-athlete must be an amateur on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season while playing 50-percent of the college's regular season competitive rounds during the year and nominated through the team's conference championship.
Howard wrapped up its second full season of competition under Director of Golf
Sam Puryear and looks to continue its quest for the program's first NEC title.
