AUSTIN, Texas (April 1, 2023) – Howard University men's and women's track & field program competed in the 95
th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (March 30-April 1), held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
Junior
Darci Khan (Stockbridge, Ga.) and senior
Jessica Wright (Durham, N.C.) led the way with record-setting performances. Khan took part in the 100-meter hurdle final where she placed fourth overall with a new school benchmark (12.96). For Wright, the All-American finished runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.98 (school record).
Wright, sophomore
Tiffani-Rae Pittman (Bowie, Md.) and freshmen
Kiya Lawson (Montclair, N.J.) and
Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburn, N.C.) represented HU in the 4x400 relay, earning second place overall with a 3:31.24 mark.
On the men's side, seniors
Jermanie Byrd (Miami Gardens, Fla.) and
Kameron Davis (Miami), junior
Zachary Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) and newcomer
Dylan Gaines (Houston) competed in the 4x400 relay where they finished fourth overall (3:13.06).
Individually, graduate
Dylan Beard (Baltimore) placed 13
th in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking in at 13.57.
HU will stay in D.C. and compete in the Bison Classic, hosted by Gallaudet University, which is held Saturday, April 8.
