RALEIGH, N.C. (March 25, 2023) – Howard University senior
Jessica Wright (Durham, N.C.) led the way at the annual Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C.
The All-American return to the Tar Heel state where she won the 400-meter dash with a 52.76 time.
Sophomore
Lamaria Washington (Miami) finished runner-up in the 100-meter dash (11.48) while fellow classmate
Tiffani-Rae Pittman (Bowie, Md.) claimed third overall in the 200-meter dash (23.55).
In the short hurdles (100-meter), junior
Darci Khan (Stockbridge, Ga.) took second place after running a time of 13.22.
In the field events, sophomore
Jasmyn Hunter (Flossmoor, Ill.) competed in the long jump where she leaped over 18 feet (5.52 meters).
On the men's side, reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week graduate
Dylan Beard (Baltimore) and senior
Jermanie Byrd (Miami Gardens, Fla.) earned second (13.79) and third (13.88), respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles.
Second-year Bison
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) represented HU in the long jump, catapulting 7.11 meters (23'4").
HU will stay in the south and head to Austin, Texas for the Texas Relays (March 30-April 1).
