WASHINGTON (November 27, 2023) - The Howard University men's basketball team (3-4) returns to the confines of Burr Gymnasium when it takes on the University of Cincinnati Tuesday (Nov. 28). The tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

SERIES RECORD
Tuesday's clash will be the third meeting between HU and Cincy with the Bearcats winning the first two matchups. In 2006, the two programs met at Cincinnati where they came away with a 70-39 victory at home.
HOWARD
The Bison, who have played the last three games without the services of starting sophomore center
Dom Campbell (Scarborough, Maine), have gotten scoring from starters junior guard
Marcus Dockery (11.4 ppg & 16 3FGMs), Harris (17.1 ppg, 6.4 rpg, nine total blocks & six total steals), Odom (11.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg & team-leading 19 total assists, eight total steals & six total blocks), Towns (16.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg & 48-percent from three) and Williams (9.3 ppg, 7.0 rpg & 14 total assists).
On the season, the Bison are averaging 77 points per contest while shooting 43-percent from the field as a team, 34-percent from three and 76-percent from the free throw line.
Kenneth Blakeney (Duke University, '95) leads the Bison, who is in his 5
th season.
CINCINNATI
Cincinnati (5-0) defeated Georgia Tech, 89-54, at home Wednesday (Nov. 22).
The high-scoring Bearcats, who average 85 points per contest, are led by red-shirt junior forward Viktor Lakhin (14.0 ppg & 8.8 rpg), graduate guard John Newman, III (10.0 ppg & 4.4 rpg), junior guard Day Day Thomas (13.2 ppg & 10 total steals) and sophomore guard Dan Skillings.
Cincinnati is shooting 47-percent from the field as a team, 38 percent from three and outrebounding its opponents by 10 per game.
Cincy is led by Wes Miller (UNC-Chapel Hill, 07), who is entering his third season at the helm.
LAST TIMEOUT
The Bison are coming off an 87-83 double overtime win over Mount St. Mary's Saturday (Nov. 25).
In the game, graduate forward
Seth Towns (Columbus, Ohio) scored six of his game-high 26 points in the second overtime to lead Howard in the victory. During the overtime, he was four-of-four from the free throw line and scored the go-ahead jumper. Towns finished with his first double-double in a Bison uniform, grabbing 11 rebounds to go along with three assists.
Junior guard
Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.), the reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week, was perfect for the game despite foul trouble, going 10-for-10 from the field and 3-for-3 from the charity stripe.
Sophomore forward
Shy Odom (Roxbury, Mass.), the Preseason MEAC Player of the Year, was also stymied with foul trouble, but he again filled the stat sheet with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists before fouling out.
Graduate guard
Jelani Williams (Washington), who hit a clutch three pointer in the first overtime, tallied 15 points, eight rebounds and a team-high five assists off the bench.
Howard was 5-of-6 from the floor in the second OT and a perfect 10-for-10 in the two overtime periods. For the game, they shot a season-high 92 percent (23-of-25) from the foul line and held a 46-30 advantage in rebounding.
