WASHINGTON (November 11, 2023) – Howard University men's basketball wraps up its brief two-game road swing Sunday (Nov. 12) at James Madison (JMU). Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. at the Atlantic Union Bank Center in Harrisonburg, Va.

SERIES RECORD
Sunday's matchup will be the fifth meeting between the two institutions. Last year, JMU defeated the Bison, 95-69, inside Burr Gymnasium to hold a 3-1 advantage.
Howard's lone victory came in during the 2004-05 campaign when it pulled out a 68-65 decision at Burr Gymnasium.
HOWARD
The Bison can fill it up, opening the season with 92-80 home win over rival Hampton (Nov. 6). They came with another impressive offensive display at Georgia Tech, leading by as much as 14 points in the second half before coming up short, 88-85.
Howard, who is averaging almost 90 points per game, is led by its Big 4 of junior guard
Bryce Harris (20.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3 blocks), sophomore forward
Shy Odom (17.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg, team leader 4.5 apg), graduate guard
Joshua Strong (15.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg) and junior guard
Marcus Dockery (14.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg). Graduate guard
Isiah Warfield (Monaca, Pa.) chips in with 8.5 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per contest.
JAMES MADISON
The Dukes (2-0) coming into the game averaging almost 100 points per game. They opened the season with a 79-76 shocker at No. 4 Michigan State Monday (Nov. 6). JMU followed with another thriller that took extra periods again, this time a 113-105 win over Kent State on the road.
James Madison has plenty of firepower, led by its quartet of redshirt junior guard Terrence Edwards (24.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 4.5 apg), graduate forward T.J. Bickerstaff (15.0 ppg, 10.5 rpg), graduate guard Michael Green, III (13.0 ppg) and redshirt senior guard Noah Friedel (11.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg).
GAME NOTES
JMU opponents are averaging 92 points per contest while the Bison have been equally generous, allowing 84 points per game. Harris is shooting 65-percent from the floor and Howard has had problems with turnovers, averaging 17 per game.
NEXT UP
Howard returns home to take on Boston University Tuesday (Nov. 14). It will follow the first part of a nonconference doubleheader between Duquesne and the Howard women at 5:30 p.m.
