DALLAS (October 10, 2023) – Howard University golf program sent three Bison to Dallas to compete in the prestigious Jackson T. Stephens Cup. The annual event took place at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
Graduates
Gregory Odom Jr. (Memphis, Tenn.) and
Everett Whiten Jr. (Chesapeake, Va.) and junior
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) represented Bison Nation, combining for 31 birdies during the 54-hole tournament.
Odom led the way, tying for 19
th overall in the individual standings. The Memphis native shot 5-under par (211) during three rounds with 14 birdies, including eight birdies in round two. In that round, he recorded a 67 (-5) on the afternoon.
Whiten tied for 31
st after shooting 1-under par (215). The Virginia product posted 12 birdies, including five birdies in the opening round. In that same round, he produced an eagle on hole 16.
Jackson wrapped up the tourney, earning 36
th overall. The Texas native shot 8-over par (224) while registering five birdies, including three birdies in round two where she shot a 70 (-2) on the day.
On Oct. 15-16, Howard men travel to Rockville, Md., for the Georgetown Intercollegiate, hosted by the Hoyas, while the HU women go to Cary, N.C., for the SAS Championship (Oct. 14-15).
