Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) sits tied for second overall at the Navy Fall Invitational, hosted by the Mids.
After day one, the Texas native shot 2-over par (74), including 1-under (35) during the front nine.
Fellow Texan sophomore
Morgan Horrell (Dallas) stands in the top 20, recording 6-over par (76) after 18 holes of action.
Newcomer
Sydnee Gaines (Middle River, Md.) registered the most birdies by any Bison on day one, collecting three overall. During this event, the Maryland product will be competing individually.
Overall, the Bison shot 30-over par (318) and sits in eighth place.
Navy is atop the leaderboard after shooting 14-over par (302), three strokes better than Towson (305, +17). Hofstra holds third place (306, +18).
Individually, Towson's Madison Barber leads the field with an even-par performance (72). Five golfers, including Jackson, are two strokes behind (74, +2) with one round remaining.
HU wraps up the weekend in Annapolis Sunday (Oct. 1). Tee-time is set for 9 a.m.
