Nnamdi Olebara (Bowie, Md.) and sophomore runner
Kaleb Berry (Duncanville, Texas) picked up a pair of victories for the men's track & field squad at the VCU Invitational, hosted by the Rams in Virginia Beach, Va.
Olebara won the weight throw, tossing over 54-feet (16.52 meters) while the Texas native claimed victory in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 1:56.81.
Newcomer
Wren Marsh also competed in the 800-meter run, earning third place with a time of 2:02.37.
Other notable performances on the track include senior
Ayoade Adebiyi (Virginia Beach, Va.) returning home and taking second place in the 1-mile run (4:23.26) and first-year Bison
Dylan Gaines finishing third in the 200-meter dash (22.23).
In the field, sophomore
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) took second place in the triple jump (14.96 meters) while fellow classmate
Kyle Fisher picked up a bronze medal in the long jump (7.06 meters).
Howard continues its indoor season with a pair of meets next weekend: Rod McCravy Invitational (Jan. 13-14) and HBCU Battle (Jan. 14).
