WASHINGTON (January 7, 2023) – After nearly a month layoff, the Howard University men's & women's track and field team returns from break for the VCU Invitational, hosted by the Rams. The meet begins at 10 a.m. at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

HU had an incredible performance at the Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 9).
On the men's side,
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) claimed his second consecutive triple jump title of the indoor season, leaping 15.13 meters (49'6").
For the women, senior jumper
Ja'Tae Joyner (Bowie, Md.) continued her winning ways with a victory in the long jump (18'3") and triple jump (40').
On the track, the hurdle squad posted another dominant performance with
Darci Khan,
Kaya- Rae Dunbar (Burtonsville, Md.) and
Jessica Wright (Durham, N.C.) taking first (8.42), second (8.44) and fourth (8.69), respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles.
Later that day, Wright came back to claim the 300-meter dash title (38.17) while Dunbar finished seventh in the 60-meter dash (7.81).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
HU next meet is Jan. 13 at the Rod McCravy Invitational, hosted by the University of Kentucky, and the annual HBCU Battle in New York City.
