WASHINGTON (March 8, 2022) – No. 2 Howard University men's basketball team clashes with No. 7 Coppin State (CSU) in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament Quarterfinals inside the Norfolk Scope Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. on ESPN+.

MATCHUP PREVIEW
Wednesday's showdown will be the third faceoff between Howard and Coppin State with CSU winning the first two matchups during the regular season.
On Jan. 24, with less than five ticks remaining, Coppin State's Nendah Tarke scored the go-ahead three-point play to down the Bison in a nail biter, 83-81, inside PEC Arena.
Nearly a month later (Feb. 21), HU dropped a tough bout to conference rival CSU, 86-82, inside Burr Gymnasium on ESPNU.

Howard (16-12) enters the tourney with a 9-5 league record and secured the No. 2 spot.

COPPIN STATE
CSU (7-22) comes in as the No. 7 seed after going 6-8 during conference play.
Coppin State is led by Tarke, All-MEAC First Team and All-Defensive Team selection. Freshman guard Greg Spurlock was named to the league's All-Rookie Team.

Thursday (March 3), the Bison dropped its regular season finale at Norfolk State, 83-61, inside Echols Hall.
Settle had a team-leading 15 points while Hawkins and junior
Khalil Robinson (Columbia, S.C.) chipped in 11 points apiece.
