MATCHUP PREVIEW
Friday's showdown will be the first meeting between Howard and South Carolina.
HOWARD
HU (21-9) comes in after grabbing its first NCAA Tournament victory in program history, knocking off Incarnate Word, 55-51, in the First Four Round.
This season, the Bison are led by junior
Iyanna Warren (Accokeek, Md.) and sophomores
Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) and
Anzhane' Hutton (Dallas). After the season, Hutton received All-MEAC First Team recognition and All-Defensive Team honor while Howell and Warren earned All-MEAC Second Team.
SOUTH CAROLINA
South Carolina (29-2) enters to the tourney as the overall No. 1 seed.
Earlier this week, the Gamecocks' top three scorers picked up All-America honors: Aliyah Boston was a first-team selection of both the AP and USBWA; Destanni Henderson was a third-team choice by USBWA and she and Zia Cooke earned honorable mention status from the AP.

Wednesday (March 16), forwards
Brooklynn Fort-Davis (Chicago) and
Krislyn Marsh (Houston) each recorded double-doubles to help the Bison edge out Incarnate Word, 55-51, in the NCAA First Four Round.
Marsh produced 16 rebounds (season-high) and 14 points while Fort-Davis added 15 points (team-high) and 11 boards in the win.

The winner moves on to the NCAA Second Round to take on either No. 8 Miami or No. 9 South Florida.
