ANNAPOLIS, Md. & CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (December 3, 2022) – Howard University men's track & field team opened the indoor season with a pair of meets: Navy Invitational I and HBCU & Ivy Challenge.
"The men came out very strong and had fantastic performances across the board," said Howard Director of Track & Field
David Oliver after today's meet. "This is a great sign of what's to come as the season progresses."
Reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Triple Jump Champion sophomore
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) led the way in Cambridge, winning the event by leaping nearly 49 feet (14.80 meters).
Fellow classmate
Kyle Fisher earned runner-up honors behind Drewery, jumping 14.60 meters (47'6"). He also finished third in the long jump after vaulting nearly 23 feet (6.95 meters).
On the track, the hurdle squad stole the show in the 60-meter hurdles with three Bison finishing in the top 4: junior

nd place/8.02); seniors
Kameron Davis (Miami/3
rd place/8.04) and
Darian Clyburn (Louisville, Ky./4
th place/8.34).
The Bison advanced three athletes to the 60m finals:

Richard Ninamou (Louisville, Ky./6

Goba Dan-Princewell (Houston/7
th place/6.88). All three achieved new personal bests.
Other notable performance included senior
Ashton Daniel (Athens, Ga.) finishing third in the 300m (34.54 seconds).
In Annapolis, senior
Nnamdi Olebara (Bowie, Md.) finished eighth overall in the weight throw with a toss of 15.90 meters (52'2"), narrowly missing the school record.
Friday (Dec. 9), the Bison travel to Staten Island, N.Y., for the Seahawk Shootout at Ocean Breeze Sports Complex, hosted by Wagner College.
