NORFOLK, Va. (November 29, 2022) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its men's basketball weekly accolades where Howard University junior forward
Jordan Wood (San Antonio) took home the league's Defensive Player of the Week award. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
In Saturday's nail-biting road win at Austin Peay (Nov. 26), Wood produced his first career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds (all on the defensive end) while racking up a career-high three blocks.
On the season, he leads the club with 17 three-pointer field goals made in nine starts.
Teammate
Steve Settle, III (Glenarden, Md.) earned honorable mention after recording his first double-double on the year (17 points & 10 rebounds) in the road victory at the Govs.
Coppin State senior guard Sam Sessoms was named MEAC Player of the Week.
After a brief break, the Bison travel to New Haven, Conn., to take on Yale University Wednesday (Nov. 30) at 7 p.m.
