Howard Women Look To Snap Skid at Manhattan College

Riverdale, NY- The Howard University women's basketball team will look to snap a two-game losing skid and get back on the winning track when it takes on Manhattan College on Saturday at 2 pm in Braddy Gymnasium.  The game will be carried on ESPN+.
The Bison (1-2) opened the season with a home win over LaSalle University but they ran into buzzsaws, in losses at Memphis and at home to George Washington on Monday. Howard's problems were compounded by the absence of three starters, who sat out the GW games with injuries.
Senior point guard Iyanna Warren and junior guard Destiny Howell, who combine for 25 points between them along with senior forward Krislyn Marsh, who averages nine points but is an important force on defense and on the boards, all missed the GW game and their status remains unclear before this game.

In their absence, the Bison will be looking to get back on track offensively. Against GW, Aziah Hudson, a graduate transfer from Old Dominion, led the way with a career-high 24 points. Reserves Kaiya Creek and Nyla Cooper picked up the slack offensively with 12 and 10 points, respectively. but without the Big Three, the Howard offense lacked the firepower to keep up with the Colonials.

Manhattan (0-3) has had similar woes. They are averaging only 52 points per game and are only shooting 19-percent from the 3-point line. They are led by guard Dee Dee Davis (19.0 ppg, 9.7 rpg) and Emily LaPoint (10.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg).

NEXT UP: Howard travels to Miami, FL to take on host Florida International University in the first round of the FIU Thanksgiving Classic on Friday, November 25 in a 12 Noon tipoff.
