The Bison (2-3) dropped a 95-69 home decision to hot-shooting James Madison University on Tuesday. Howard is led by sophomore guard
Elijah Hawkins (14.0 ppg, 17 assists),
Steve Settle, III (12.6 ppg),
Bryce Harris (11.6 ppg, 5.0 rpg),
Jordan Wood (10.4 ppg) and
Kobe Dickson (10.0 ppg).
In the Cowboys (2-1), the Bison again face a team with equal balanced scoring led by Brendan Wenzel (18.0 ppg), who leads five players in double figures. Wyoming averages 84 points per game. The Cowboys are coming off a 76-72 loss to Southeast Louisiana this past Sunday.
SERIES RECORD:Â The Cowboys hold a 2-0 advantage in the series, having outed the Bison 78-43 in the NCAA tournament in 1981 and most recently in 2008 when they prevailed, 84-75 in Logan, UT.
NEXT UP: Howard will play again on Saturday against either Buffalo or Drake on Saturday and Sunday, with time to be determined. All games of the tournament, which runs through Monday, will be broadcast on ESPN3.
