Memphis, Tenn. (November 12, 2022) - Howard University women's basketball team got 12 points from senior forward
Brooklynn Fort-Davis (Chicago), but no one else reached double figures as the Bison fell, 101-54, to Memphis in a nonconference game at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse before 1,734.
The Tigers (1-1) jumped out to an early 33-14 first quarter lead and never looked back.
The Bison (1-1) shot only 21-percent (14-of-65) and were outrebounded, 57-38.
Fort-Davis added six rebounds to her totals.
The team's two top scorers, senior guard
Iyanna Warren (Accokeek, Md.) and junior guard
Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) combined for 15 points on 3-of-20 shooting between them.
Third-year Bison
Kaiya Creek (Seat Pleasant, Md.) tallied eight points off the bench.
A bright spot for the Bison was in free throw shooting where they converted on 80-percent (23-of-29).
Howard will look to regroup when it hosts George Washington Monday (Nov. 14) at 7 p.m. in Burr Gymnasium.
