Men's Basketball Announces National Broadcast Schedule

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 1, 2022) – A pair of nationally-televised contests inside of Burr Gymnasium highlight the 2022-23 Howard University men's basketball television and streaming schedule released today.

Games against North Carolina Central on Saturday, January 28 and Norfolk State on Monday, March 2 will be televised on ESPNU as part of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC)'s men's basketball package.

The game against North Carolina Central will begin at 6 p.m. while the regular season finale against Norfolk State will tip-off at 9 p.m.

In addition, nine other Howard contests will be broadcast or streamed on the SEC Network, FloSports and ESPN+.

Howard's season-opener at No. 4 Kentucky on Monday, Nov. 7 will be broadcast on the SEC Network at 6:30 p.m.

ESPN+ contests include road games against George Washington (Friday, Nov. 11), Austin Peay (Saturday, Nov. 26), VCU (Sunday, Dec. 11) and Harvard (Sunday, Dec. 18). All three of Howard's games in the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands will also be streamed on ESPN+ beginning with its contest against Wyoming on Friday, Nov. 18.

The Saturday, Dec. 3 contest against Hampton, affectionately known as the "Battle of the Real HU" will be streamed on FloSports. A start time for that game hasn't been announced yet.

Howard will be exciting to watch this season as it was picked third in the MEAC preseason poll.

Howard will be led by Elijah Hawkins (Washington), who earned MEAC Preseason First Team honors. Redshirt junior Steve Settle, III, was named to the MEAC Preseason Second Team. Hawkins, the reigning MEAC Rookie of the Year, led the conference in total assists (156) and assists per game (5.6) while ranking among the nation leaders in assists per game (16th) and steals per game (2.21/15th). In his first season, he was selected to the BOXTOROW Division I All-America Second Team. Last season, Settle started all 29 games for the Bison en route to being named to the All-MEAC Second Team. The DMV native scored double figures 21 times a year ago, including four 20-point performances.

The entirety of the 2023 MEAC Basketball Tournament, encompassing both men's and women's games, will be live on ESPN networks, with specific channel designations to be determined later

in the season. All games on ESPN networks are available to stream on the ESPN App, which is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
