WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Howard University women's basketball Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference scheduled contest versus Norfolk State will be rescheduled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Spartans program.Â

Saturday's contest versus NSU has been postponed and will be replaced by Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland. The game will be in Bobcat Arena, with a 2 p.m. tipoff, and will be streamed at mountaineast.tv/frostburg.

In addition, the University of Maryland Eastern-Shore contest that was rescheduled for Feb. 14 will move to Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. after Norfolk State postponed their game versus UMES. Howard will replace NSU on the Hawks schedule with the cancellation.Â

Saturday's contest versus Division II foe Frostburg State is the first game versus the two programs. The postponement of Frostburg State game versus Wheeling allowed the two schools to schedule each other.Â
Due to Covid-19, the Bison has not seen the court since facing Memphis on Dec. 17.Â

- Â The 2020-21 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division Champions fell in the finals of the 2021 conference tournament. However, the Bison took the league by storm last season. Despite the pandemic, Howard went 10-2 in conference play and 15-4, with non-conference wins versus LaSalle, George Washington, Mt. Saint Mary's, and Richmond.Â
- The Bison were selected No. 1 in the MEAC Preseason Poll.
- Three Bison was named the Preseason All-MEAC Team, Anzhane' Hutton, Kaiya Creek, and Iyanna Warren.

Howard's 28.9 defensive rebounds ranked 30th in the NCAA led by 2020-21 Rookie of the Year Anzhane' Hutton. Hutton was also named to the All-MEAC second team, All-Rookie, and All-Defensive team.
