Tori Tyson enters her second season at the helm after turning the program around in one year.
In her first year, Coach Tyson surpassed expectations by leading the team to the postseason for the first time since 2015 while earning 19 wins, a feat that has not been accomplished since 2012.
A year ago, sophomores
Kalita Dennis (Elk Grove, Calif.),
Xzarria Simmons (Escondido, Calif.), and
Camille Navarro (Los Angeles) received postseason honors with Dennis winning the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year Award.
Recently, Dennis was named to the 2020 Collegiate Player of the Year Watch List by USA Softball; thus, becoming the first in program history to receive this honor.
