BALTIMORE (January 4, 2020) – Howard University women's swimming & diving team suffered a 120-134 setback at the hands of UMBC.
Second-year swimmer
Madison Freeland (Glenside, Pa.) led the way, producing the program's fourth-best time in the women's 1650 Free (19:01.10).
Fellow classmate
Asha Evans (Atlanta) took third overall in the 50 Free, clocking in at 25.22, while freshman standout
Courtney Connolly (White Lake, Mich.) finished runner-up in the women's 100 Butterfly (1:02.27).
On the board, junior
Christian Nickolas (Brentwood, Calif.) and newcomer
Teyana Johnson (San Antonio) went second (202.65) and third (200.02), respectively, in the 1-meter dive. Nickolas also placed third in the women's 3-meter dive, scoring 191.25.
On Jan. 18, the Bison host a three-team meet inside Burr Pool against Marymount and Mount St. Mary's. The Senior Day festivities start 1 p.m.
