WASHINGTON & FAIRFAX, Va. (September 25, 2026) — Howard University women's swimming & diving squad began its new season with a runner-up finish at the annual Potomac Relays, hosted by George Mason in Fairfax, Va.
Overall, the Bison tallied 302 points while taking first in three events.
In the pool, senior
Jasmine Morgan (Chicago), junior
Gabrielle Vickles (El Dorado, Trinidad & Tobago), sophomore
Alyssa Napier (Wilmington, Del.) and rookie
Victoria Williams earned gold in the 500 Free Relay, clocking in at 4:39.30.
Morgan, Vickles, Williams and senior
Rhanishka Gibbs (Nassau, Bahamas) ended the afternoon with a second-place finish in the 200 Free Relay (1:37.01).
Napier and freshman standouts
Saylor Debnam and
Amira Washington took silver in the 3x100 Fly Relay with a 2:56.76 mark.
Gibbs and second-year Bison
Kaelyn Mitchell (Mobile, Ala.) and
Brooke Whitt (Chicago) grabbed second in the 3x100 Breast Relay (3:24.37).
On the board, senior
Jala Wilson (Richmond, Va.) won the 1-meter (204.30) and 3-meter (191.30) dives. Newcomer
Jazmine Green (Boston) finished runner-up in both events, scoring 182.35 (1-meter) and 163.05 (3-meter), respectively. Both events took place on the campus of American.
George Mason won the 2026 Potomac Relays, scoring 354 points.
Saturday (Oct. 10), Howard returns to Burr Gym Pool to host crosstown rival Georgetown in the annual Battle at The Burr. The first race is scheduled for 2 p.m.
