WASHINGTON (January 3, 2020) – After a month away from competition, the Howard University men's and women's track & field teams return to action for the Father Diamond Invitational, hosted by George Mason. The action starts 10 a.m. with field events, followed by running events approximately 11 a.m., at the George Mason Field House in nearby Fairfax, Va.

LAST TIMEOUT
On Dec. 7, the Bison open its indoor season at the Eastern Shore Cappy Anderson Invitational, hosted by Maryland Eastern Shore.
For the men, they finished fourth overall. The sophomore trio of
KiShaun Carter (Brick, N.J.),
Darian Clyburn (Louisville, Ky.) and
Kameron Davis (Miami) headline the afternoon, each qualifying for the 2020 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Championships men's 60-meter hurdles.
On the women's side, they won the event for the second straight year. The day was capped off by a record-setting performance from second-year thrower
Diana Effiom (Dallas) in the women's weight throw, tossing over 50 feet (15.27 meters; 50'1.25").

Currently, Howard has four Bison qualified for the MEAC Track and Field Indoor Championships in Landover, Md.: Carter; Clyburn; Davis and Effiom.
A year ago, four Bison won individual events at the Father Diamond Invite, including sophomores
Kennedy Lewis (Atlanta; 200-meter dash),
Aariq Nixon (Baltimore; 500-meter dash) and
Makenli Raspberry (Houston; 400-meter dash).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Friday (Jan. 10), Howard travels to the Big Apple, New York City, for the HBCU Battle at the Track.
