WASHINGTON (January 24, 2020) – After a week away from the hardwood, the Howard University women's basketball team returns to action for a pair of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contests.
Saturday (Jan. 25), HU hosts Florida A&M (FAMU) inside The Burr. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. Two nights later (Jan. 27), the Bison travel back to Baltimore where Coppin State (CSU) awaits. The action starts 5:30 p.m. inside PEC Arena.

MATCHUP PREVIEWS
HOWARD
HU (10-8, 2-3 MEAC) looks to get back on track with the midway point of league play approaching. Howard hosts three of their next four contests inside Burr Gymnasium before hitting the road for five straight, starting at Florida A&M (Feb. 8).
Offensively, Howard tops the league in several categories, including scoring (69.7 ppg), three-point percentage (.343) and free throw percentage (.667). Defensively, the Bison rank No. 1 in blocks per game (5.6).
Additionally, senior guard
Ayonna Williams (Washington) is only 27 points away from 1,000 career points.
FLORDIA A&M
FAMU (4-13, 2-4 MEAC) enters Saturday looking to rebound after a one-point home loss versus North Carolina Central, 70-71. Despite the setback, Florida A&M has won two of their last three contests after dropping 10-in-a-row.
Alaina Rice and Shalaunda Burney-Robinson lead the Lady Rattlers, scoring 10.1 ppg each.
COPPIN STATE
Before meeting HU, CSU (0-17, 0-5 MEAC) battles in-town rival Morgan State Saturday (Jan. 25) inside PEC Arena. Entering the weekend, Coppin State continues its search for win No. 1. The club has lost 18 straight, dating back to March 2019.
Chance Graham spearheads the Eagles' attack, averaging 9.5 ppg and 8.6 rpg.
LAST TIMEOUT
The women's basketball team fell, 67-74, Saturday (Jan. 18) against Morgan State at the Hill Field House. Williams recorded 23 points, seven rebounds, and four steals for the night. Sophomore
Krislyn Marsh (Duncanville, Texas) also had a stellar game with 19 points and 10 rebounds, making this her third double-double of the season.
PROMOTIONS
Saturday's promotions include National Girls & Women in Sports Day and Girls Scout Day, along with Alumni Weekend. Nearly two dozen alumni return to The Mecca where they will be recognized during halftime.
Additionally, a group of 10 or more fans will get into the game for only $5.

HU hosts two more games before a crucial five-game road swing.
Saturday (Feb. 1), Howard takes on Morgan State at 2 p.m., followed by a 5:30 start time against Coppin State.
