TOWSON, Md. (April 6, 2019) – Howard University field squad competed in the 2019 Towson Invitational where several throwers flourished Saturday (April 6).
Freshman standout
Mekhi Abbott (Monroe, N.J.) led the way with a runner-up finish in the men's javelin, registering a new personal best (51.63m; 169').
Fellow classmate
Tyler Brown (Coatesville, Pa.) also had an exceptional afternoon, setting new personal records in the discus (35.54m; 116') and hammer (35.56m; 116').
On the women's side, senior
Mi-ah Watkins (Bronx, N.Y.) and sophomore
Kaylah Clark (Miami) took part in the hammer throw where they placed 12
th (42.44m; 139') and 15
th (41.76m; 137'), respectively.
Newcomer
Kailey Strozier (Sugar Land, Texas) registered a personal best in the women's shot put (10.32m; 33').
