WASHINGTON (April 5, 2019) – With the conference championships quickly approaching, the Howard University men's & women's track and field squads continue their training in Towson, Md. at the Towson Invitational, hosted by Towson University. The one-day event starts Saturday (April 6) at 10 a.m.

On March 29-30, the Bison participated in the Fred Hardy Invitational, hosted by the University of Richmond.
Freshman
Corintheans Payne (Apopka, Fla.) won the men's 400-meter hurdles with a new personal best (54.47).
On the women's side, junior
Oluchi Ike (Upper Marlboro, Md.) won the 400-meter hurdles (58.50) while fellow classmate
Uchechi Onuoha (Yardly, Pa.) finished fourth (1:03.74).
MEET PREVIEW
This weekend's meet will have several nearby schools competing. The teams include Howard, Towson, Delaware State, Bowie State, Coppin State, Morgan State, Maryland Eastern Shore, Montgomery CC, Lincoln (Pa.), Mary Washington, Stevenson, Salisbury, Delaware Valley CC, Prince George's CC, Ramapo College, Robert Morris, Johns Hopkins, Loyola, Catholic, Towson Track Club, Susquehanna, Hagerstown CC, Mount St. Mary's, and UMBC.
Currently, 16 Bison have qualified for the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships: Ike; Onuoha; seniors
