Howard Lacrosse Wraps Up Season with Two ASUN Contests

HU ends road swing at Liberty; Bison host Kennesaw State for Senior Day

WASHINGTON (April 25, 2019) – Howard University women's lacrosse wraps up its 2019 campaign with a pair of Atlantic Sun contests. Friday (April 26), HU goes to Lynchburg, Va. where the Liberty (LU) Lady Flames await. Match time is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+. Two days later (April 28), the Bison host Kennesaw State (KSU) for Senior Day. The action starts 11 a.m. at Greene Stadium.

LAST TIMEOUT
 
Thursday (April 18), Howard was shut down by the Wofford Terriers at Gibbs Stadium, 23-0.
 
Two days later (April 20), the Bison were shutout by Furman (FU), 22-0, inside Paladin Stadium.

HOWARD
 
Howard (0-10) looks to end the season on a high note.
 
Sophomore Jillian Jones (Fresno, Calif.) leads the Bison with 13 scores on the year while fellow classmate Lailah Robey (Chesapeake Beach, Md.) is second on the team (eight goals). Defensively, freshman Andrea Fievre (Snellville, Ga.) has recorded 88 saves in 12 matches this season.
 
Also, before Sunday's match against the Owls, HU will recognize seniors Latroya Pina (Seeknok, Mass.) and Lauryn Smith (Philadelphia) for their hard work and dedication to the program.
 
LIBERTY
 
Liberty (12-4, 4-1 ASUN) is coming off a 23-6 victory at Kent State, Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Lady Flames clinched the No. 2 seed for the ASUN Lacrosse Championship.
 
Friday's showdown will be the fifth meeting between HU and LU with the Lady Flames holding a 3-1 edge. The two teams have not met in nearly eight years and will be facing off for the first time as ASUN Conference members. Liberty topped Howard 16-13 in the last meeting, April 30, 2011.
 
KENNESAW STATE
 
KSU (7-9, 2-3 ASUN) looks to secure a spot at the ASUN Championships. Currently, Kennesaw State holds the fourth and final spot after knocking off Stetson, 15-6.
 
Siena Gore leads the Owls' attack, scoring 62 goals in 16 contests. In the cage, Alex Bunn has racked up 151 saves on the season.
