Howard Lacrosse Travels to South Carolina for a Pair of Nonconference Matchups

HU meets Wofford on ESPN+; Bison take on Furman Saturday

WASHINGTON (April 17, 2019) – Howard University women's lacrosse continues its road swing with a pair of nonconference matchups in South Carolina. Thursday (April 18), HU meets Wofford on ESPN+ at 5 p.m. Two days later (April 20), the Bison take on Furman at 11 a.m.

LAST TIMEOUT
 
The Howard University women's lacrosse team dropped a pair of games over the weekend.
 
They lost, 20-4, to Stetson Friday (April 12). Sophomore Jillian Jones (Fresno, Calif.) led the way, scoring three times in the loss.
 
Two days later (April 14), Kent State downed HU, 17-1. Sophomore Tiffany Hunt (Bridgewater, N.J.) recorded the Bison's lone goal.
 
MATCHUP PREVIEWS
 
HOWARD
 
Howard (0-10) looks to end the season on a high note.
 
Jones leads the Bison with 13 scores on the year while fellow classmate Lailah Robey (Chesapeake Beach, Md.) is second on the team (eight goals). Defensively, freshman Andrea Fievre (Snellville, Ga.) has recorded 74 saves in 10 matches this season.
 
WOFFORD
 
Wofford (2-12) seeks to get back in the win column and stop its seven-match losing skid.
 
Hannah Mutch spearheads the Terriers' attack with 19 goals. Ally Furnari and Elisabeth Ralph are second and third, respectively, on the squad, tallying 18 and 17. Defensively, Kelsey Thompson has started 13 contests while racking up 128 saves.
 
FURMAN
 
Furman (7-7) is coming off a 1-1 weekend, falling to Detroit Mercy, 14-12, before downing Central Michigan, 8-6.
 
Offensively, Grace Pollak leads the Paladins with 35 goals on the year, while Abby Shields has 26 scores and 18 assists. Courtney Baker has played all 780:00 in goal for the Paladins on the season, making 119 saves.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
HU wraps up the regular season with two more Atlantic Sun (ASUN) contests.
 
Friday (April 26), Howard ends its four-match road trip at Liberty. The action starts 6 p.m.
 
Two days later (April 28), the Bison return home where the Kennesaw State Owls await. Match time is slated for 11 a.m. on Senior Day.
