GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 13, 2019) – Despite the rainy conditions, the Howard University men's track & field squad took part in the 2019 Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T State, where they had a pair of relay squads excel.
The 4x400 relay team consisting of seniors
Kenneth Chigbue (Bowie, Md.),
Tariq Fullerton (Kingston, Jamaica) and
Korey Lombard (Antioch, Calif.) and sophomore
Mekhi Closson (Baltimore) finished third overall after clocking in at 3:26.27.
Chigbue, Closson and Lombard joined newcomer
Ashton Daniel (Athens, Ga.) in the 4x100 relays where the four Bison placed fifth, recording a 42.17 mark.
Individually, Lombard and Chigbue competed in the 200-meter dash where they ended the weekend 12
th (21.78) and 13
th (21.81), respectively.
In the field, freshman
Tyler Brown (Coatesville, Pa.) continues to make strides for the Bison. The Pennsylvania native registered new personal best in the discus (37.43m; 122'10") and hammer (37.05m; 121'7").
Second-year jumper
Nathaniel Are (Chicago) took 15
th overall in the long jump after leaping a season-best (6.34m; 20'9.75").

David Oliver and the Bison compete in Baltimore for the Morgan Legacy, hosted by Morgan State.
