NORFOLK, Va. (March 5, 2019) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its men's basketball weekly honors where Howard University's sophomore guard
RJ Cole (Union, N.J.) was named MEAC Player of the Week, presented by U.S. Marines. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
Cole grabbed the league's top weekly award for the fifth time this season after scoring a game-high 23 points in the road win at Savannah State (March 2). The New Jersey product also produced six boards, five assists and three steals, along with five trey balls.
Monday (March 4), he was named BOXTOROW National Player of the Week.
This season, Cole leads the league in scoring (21.2 ppg).
Redshirt junior
Chad Lott (Shreveport, La.) received honorable mention after recording his first double-double in a Bison uniform with 14 points and 10 rebounds, along with five assists against the Tigers.
Bethune-Cookman's senior forward Shawntrez Davis captured MEAC Defensive Player of the Week while Norfolk State's freshman guard C.J. Kelly won MEAC Rookie of the Week honors.
