PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland - Howard softball (6-17) is set to play their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) game of the year. The Bison will travel to Maryland Eastern Shore (3-14) for two games on March 24. The teams were originally scheduled to play a three-game series; however, due to water on the field the Saturday game was postponed. Sunday's games are scheduled for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bison split a doubleheader against Saint Peter's on March 13. They won the opener 5-3 and were defeated in the second game 7-3. Between the two games,
Kalita Dennis went 3-for-6 with two doubles,
Camille Navarro went 2-for-6 with two RBIs and
Sienna Herrera went 5-for-6. In the circle,
Tracy Mosley tossed seven innings, allowing just a run and striking out seven in game one to earn the victory.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Despite their losing record, the Hawks won their doubleheader against South Carolina State, outscoring their opponent over the two games 16-3. All three wins for the Hawks this season have come against South Carolina State. Four players for the Hawks are batting above .300, led by Rachel Gingrich's .321 batting average.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The Bison will return home for a three-game series against Delaware State from March 30-31. Saturday, March 30 will be a doubleheader, with games beginning at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The series will close on March 31, with first pitch set for 12 noon.
