Throughout the game, Howard will be having raffle giveaways to various local D.C., restaurants. The Bison will also collect toys to give to those in need, all toys collected will be given to the Salvation Army of D.C.

• Howard defeated Hampton breaking a ten-game losing streak to the Pirates on Thursday, Dec. 5 in Hampton, Va.
• The Bison will begin a four-game homestand in Burr Gymnasium facing Appalachian State (Dec. 14), Regent (Dec. 18), Harvard (Dec. 22) and Penn (Dec. 30).

• The HU November road swing began Nov. 9 in Washington, D.C., at George Washington and concluded on Nov. 26 in Washington, D.C., at American University.
• Broken Record: Charles "CJ" Williams (Richmond, Va.) broke Howard record for the most career points (1,933) formerly held by James Daniel versus Mount St. Mary's Nov. 30. 
• Howard was picked to finish sixth in the 11-team MEAC for the 2019-20 season, according to a poll of the leagues head coaches and sports information directors.

 Last time out Howard 94, Hampton 91 Overtime

• Howard University junior Zion Cousins notched a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds alongside a team-best 23 points from senior all-time leading scorer Charles "CJ" Williams in Thursday night's 94-91 overtime victory over the Pirates of Hampton University.
• Along with the contributions of Cousins and Williams, Kyle Foster, Wayne Bristol, Jr., and Khalil Robinson also scored in double figures with 13 points, 17 pts. and 10 pts., respectively. Nate Garvey closed the game scoring 4 of his 8 points in overtime to help seal the victory as well contributing six boards and four assists in the contest.
• The game consisted of 17 ties and 16 leads changes.
• Williams and Bristol combined for seven points, including Williams' long ball at the 17-second mark to take the contest into overtime.
• Howard took a quick lead in the overtime and advanced to a five-point advance before securing the 94-91 win. 

 The Series

• Appalachian State leads the series, 1-0.
• Howard fell on the road 100-86, inside the Holmes Center.
• App State controlled the glass by out-rebounding HU, 49-32, with several key players in foul trouble before intermission.
• Despite putting Appalachian State at the foul line 23 times, Howard had more attempts at the charity stripe, but only shot 64-percent (18-of-28) on the night.

 About Appalachian State: 

• The Mountaineers defeated St. Andrews 90-58, Dec. 3.
• Adrian Delph led five Mountaineers in double figures with a career-high-tying 19 points.
• App State has held seven of its last eight opponents under 65 points and is surrendering 61.0 points per game, which is tops in the Sun Belt.
• Appalachian State begins a four-game road trip versus Howard.
