WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Howard University men's basketball returns to the safe confines of Burr Gymnasium Saturday, Nov. 30, with a 4:00 p.m. tip against the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers.
News and Notes:
- Road swing began in Washington, D.C., at George Washington and concluded in Washington, D.C., at American University.
- In between, the District games during their recent road swing the Bison traveled to five different cities, flew out of three different airports, logged over 2,435 miles and clocked in 21 hours and 20 minutes of flight time.
- Record Watch: Charles "CJ" Williams is 4 points shy for the most career points (1,933) currently held by James Daniel.
- The Bison went 0-4 during the Men Against Breast Cancer (MABC) Invitational, Howard fell to Notre Dame, Toledo, Robert Morris, and Marshall.
- Zion Cousins has averaged a team-best 5.9 rebounds per game for the Bison.
- Howard was picked to finish sixth in the 11-team MEAC for the 2019-20 season, according to a poll of the leagues head coaches and sports information directors.
- The Bison will play five of their next six games at home to close out non-conference play.

- It was a night of runs in Bender Arena, with the Howard University Bison falling short, 86-69 to the American University Eagles.
- Charles 'CJ' Williams inched closer to Howard's all-time scoring record, recording 21 points, his fifth-straight double-figure performance, his fourth 20+ performance of the season.
- Wayne Bristol Jr. recorded a career night, hitting a season five three-pointers, for 25 points also a season high. Zion Cousins brought down a team high nine rebounds.
- Howard lost the turnover battle 15-9 and the Eagles held a 58 percent (18-of-31 from the floor) to Howard's 42 percent (12-of-28) shooting advantage. .
The Series:
- This will be the first meeting between the Mount and Howard since an 82-62 Mount victory on Dec. 3, 1996. The Mountaineers are 3-1 all-time against the Bison.
About Mount St. Mary's
- Mount St. Mary's closed the game with an 8-to-1 run to rally past Utah Valley, 64-61, at Knott Arena on Tuesday night. Damian Chong Qui scored a career high 18 points, including an acrobatic lay-up to give the Mount a 63-60 lead with 12 seconds remaining, to pace the Mount in the victory. Jalen Gibbs added 15 points while Omar Habwe chipped in nine points and nine rebounds for the Mountaineers. The Mount trailed 60-56 with 2:39 remaining before rallying to the victory. Mount St. Mary's held Utah Valley to 34.9 percent shooting in the game.
- Mount St. Mary's has played the 17th-most difficult schedule in the nation this season according to the latest KenPom Rankings. Four of the Mount's seven games this season have been played against teams ranked in the top 150 by KenPom. The Mount also has played a pair of games against ranked opponents in No. 20 Washington and No. 9 Kentucky.
- Mount St. Mary's held Utah Valley to 34.9 percent shooting in its 64-61 win on Tuesday night at Knott Arena. The Mountaineers are holding opponents to 42.7 percent shooting on the season and 67.4 points per game. The Mount is second in the NEC in defensive efficiency this year (101.7).
