NORFOLK, Va. (November 26, 2019) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its women's basketball weekly honors where Howard University saw senior guard
Sarah Edmond (Freeport, N.Y.) shared the league's top weekly award. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
Edmond earned MEAC Co-Player of the Week after guiding the Bison to a pair of road wins at Loyola (Md.) and Hofstra. She shared the award with Norfolk State's Chanette Hicks.
The New York native averaged 19 points on 57-percent (13-of-23) shooting, including 43-percent (6-of-14) from long range, in the two-game span. After scoring a game-high 20 points at Loyola (Nov. 20), Edmond recorded her first double-double of the season (18 points and 10 boards) at Hofstra (Nov. 24).
Maryland Eastern Shore's Makayla Adams earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors while Morgan State's senior Chelsea Mitchell took home MEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

HU concludes its four-game road trip in San Juan Puerto Rico for the San Juan Shootout.
Wednesday (Nov. 27), Howard meets Bucknell in the Battle of the Bison. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. After Thanksgiving (Nov. 29), the Bison face Pac-12 foe Washington at 1 p.m.
