MATCHUP PREVIEW

HOWARD

Howard (8-11) enters MLK Day with the conference's top scoring attack (80.2 ppg), led by the trio of Cole, Lott and junior Charles Williams (Richmond, Va.).

Cole, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Preseason Player of the Year, leads the league in scoring (20.9 ppg) while ranking among the nation's leaders in total free throws made (115; 8th nationally).

Williams, 2017-18 All-MEAC First Team honoree, sits second in the conference behind Cole with 18.3 points per game. Lott chips in 14.8 ppg while shooting a respectable 47-percent (91-of-193) from the floor.

"Harvard is another good team," said Howard Men's Basketball head coach Kevin Nickelberry. "It gives us a chance to end our home slide against a really good team."

Howard has won its last five nonconference home games, dating back to December 2017. This season, HU is 4-3 inside The Burr.

HARVARD

Harvard (6-7) comes in seeking to bounce back from its conference opening loss at Dartmouth, 81-63. Tommy Amaker enters his 12th season at the helm for the Crimson. The program's all-time winningest coach has the squad posed to make another title run.

"They're very talented," Nickelberry added. "We're must play our best basketball Monday in front of a nice home crowd."

Harvard will be looking for back-to-back titles since winning at least a share of five straight from 2011-2015. The Crimson is led by an extremely talented junior class that includes the reigning Ivy League Player of the Year Seth Towns, first-team All-Ivy selection Chris Lewis and dynamic point guard Bryce Aiken, who was tabbed the 2016 Rookie of the Year and missed most of last season due to injury.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Saturday (Jan. 26), Howard continues its home stand when Delaware State comes to The District. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. inside The Burr.
