Women’s Lacrosse Closes Out Season with Kennesaw State

Bison look to finish 2018 campaign on a high note

WASHINGTON (April 28, 2018) – In their season finale, Coach Karli Brentlinger and the Howard University Women's Lacrosse team host Kennesaw State (KSU) at Greene Stadium. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
 
Before Sunday's match against the Owls, HU will recognize senior Natia Warren for her hard work and dedication on and off the field.
 
MATCHUP PREVIEW
 
Sunday's matchup will be the seventh meeting between Howard and Kennesaw State with the Owls leading the all-time series, 6-0.
 
HU (1-11, 0-4 ASUN) looks to close out the 2018 campaign with its first-ever Atlantic Sun (ASUN) victory. Currently, Warren is fifth and in the ASUN in total goals (38) and ranks 20th nationally in goals per game (3.45). The New Jersey product also leads the team in draw controls (48), which ranks sixth in the conference. Fellow classmate goalie Amerra Sheckles is third in the league in total saves (139) and save percentage (39.2). Additionally, the Seattle native sits fifth in the country with 11.58 saves per match.
 
Last week, KSU (6-10, 2-2 ASUN) clinched a spot in their fourth ASUN Championship with a win over Stetson. Kennesaw State can clinch the three seed with a win and an Old Dominion loss. Freshman Siena Gore leads the ASUN in total goals (65), which also ranks sixth nationally.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
Last Friday (April 20), Howard hung tough, but a big rally from the Furman Paladins would down HU, 18-6, at Greene Stadium. Warren led the way with three goals on four shots.
 
Sunday (April 22), the shorthanded Bison battled, but fell to Wofford, 17-5, at Greene Stadium on Senior Day. Newcomer Terie Young led the way, registering her first collegiate goals in a losing effort.
