Lauren McCoy and the Howard University Softball team travels to Princess Anne, Md. where the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks await. The three-game series starts with a Saturday doubleheader, beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a seven-inning contest Sunday at noon.

For HU (5-36, 3-11 MEAC), they are looking to build momentum for next season after mathematically being eliminated from postseason play. Freshman
Trinity Gibbs (.345) and sophomore
Kamryn Tillman (.330) spearhead the Bison attack, ranking first and second, respectively, on the team.
Monday (April 23), Gibbs was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week after her weekend performance versus Delaware State.
Maryland Eastern Shore (4-32, 1-14 MEAC) enters the weekend looking to snap a seven-game slide while seeking to end the season on a high note. Sara Jo Whaley leads the Hawks with a .300 batting average. Currently, the squad is winless at home (0-8).
LAST TIMEOUT
Last Saturday (April 21), the Bison earned a doubleheader split with Delaware State at Nationals Youth Academy. HU won game one, thanks to a complete-game shutout from redshirt junior
Mackenzi Steele, 2-0, but fell in the nightcap, 6-1.
The next day (April 22), HU were downed by the Delaware State Hornets in extra innings, 9-5, at Nationals Youth Academy. Tillman and Gibbs each collected three hits while redshirt freshman
Zaria Hall went 2-of-4 with two runs scored in a losing effort.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On May 2, HU finishes the regular season at Coppin State. First-pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
