Bison Continue ASUN Play in Florida

Women’s Lacrosse meets reigning ASUN Champs Friday; take on Hatters Sunday

WASHINGTON (April 12, 2018) – Coach Karli Brentlinger and the Howard University Women's Lacrosse team conclude its four-match road swing in the Sunshine State with a pair of Atlantic Sun (ASUN) contests against Jacksonville (JU) and Stetson (SU).
 
Friday (April 13), HU meets the reigning ASUN champs at 4 p.m. Fans can follow all the action via live stats.
 
Two days later (April 15), Howard takes on the Hatters in Deland, Fla. The action begins at noon. HU faithful can catch the match via live stats or live video.

HOWARD
 
Despite a tough weekend in Michigan, HU (1-7, 0-2 ASUN) seeks to keep the momentum going as they registered 10 goals in their last outing. As of today, senior Natia Warren ranks 11th in the country with 3.75 goals per game and top 50 in draw controls (4.88). Fellow classmate Amerra Sheckles sits fifth in the NCAA with 11.25 saves per game.
 
JACKSONVILLE
 
Jacksonville (9-3, 2-0 ASUN) begins a five-match home stretch against the Bison. Currently, the Dolphins are riding a four-match winning streak, including two wins to open league at Old Dominion, 21-12, and Coastal Carolina, 13-11. JU averages 16.50 goals per game, which ranks third in the nation.
 
STETSON
 
Before meeting Howard, Stetson (2-10, 0-2 ASUN) plays Delaware State Friday at 5 p.m. Last weekend, the Hatters dropped both conference matches against Old Dominion, 12-11, and Coastal Carolina, 17-13. Senior Hallie Merz leads the squad, ranking fifth in the league with 32 points.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
Last Friday (April 6), Howard dropped its nonconference bout at Central Michigan, 19-3. Warren led the way for HU with two goals.
 
Sunday (April 8), the Bison were downed by Detroit Mercy, 23-10, in nonconference action. Warren led the Bison attack with a match-high six goals on nine shots.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
Howard returns to The District for a pair of nonconference matches at Greene Stadium.
 
Friday (April 20), HU hosts Southern Conference foe Furman at noon.
 
Sunday (April 22), the Bison square off against Wofford on Senior Day. The action starts at noon.
