Lauren McCoy and the Howard University Softball team resume conference play when the Morgan State (MSU) Lady Bears come to town. Friday's seven-inning contest starts 3 p.m. while Saturday's doubleheader begins at 11 a.m.
The three-game series will take place at Nationals Youth Academy.
MATCHUP PREVIEW
Howard (3-25, 1-2 MEAC) continues conference play after dropping two versus Siena in nonconference action. HU and Morgan State are tied for fifth with a chance to move up the MEAC Northern Division. Coach McCoy's bunch will need to generate runs to came away victorious against the league's top pitcher, MSU's Amy Begg.
MSU (10-13, 1-2 MEAC) enters after splitting Tuesday's doubleheader against Missouri-Kansas City. Morgan State won game one in extra innings, 9-8 (f/8), but dropped a close 7-6 bout in the nightcap. Begg, reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Pitcher of the Year, spearheads the pitching staff while junior Damali Young, All-MEAC Preseason selection, provides the speed and bat.

On April 7-8, the Bison goes to Baltimore where they will face conference-leading Coppin State. Saturday's doubleheader begins 1 p.m. and Sunday's seven-inning game starts at noon.
