NORFOLK, Va. (February 27, 2018) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced its weekly honors where freshman standout
RJ Cole clinched his 13
th top rookie weekly award. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
Over the weekend, Cole averaged 23 points, 8.5 assists and 3.5 steals while recording his first career double-double with 25 points and 10 assists in the win over versus Delaware State Saturday (Feb. 24). Monday (Feb. 26), the New Jersey product scored 21 points while tallying seven assists versus Norfolk State on nationally televised ESPNU.
This season, Cole ranks sixth in the nation in points per game (23.6) while leading the conference in multiple categories, including points per game, assists per game (5.9) and minutes per game (38.1). He has scored double figures in every game this season while recording 23 20-point performances.
Sophomore
Charles Williams posted 28.5 points per game in the two-game span with a season-high 32 points versus Norfolk State.
