MATCHUP PREVIEW

HOWARD

After winning three straight, the Bison have dropped its last two games versus North Carolina A&T State, 76-68, and at Maryland Eastern Shore, 58-52. Currently, Howard sits seventh in the conference standings with a tie-breaker over North Carolina Central. HU has an opportunity to move up the league standings as they are only a half-game behind Morgan State for the sixth spot. Sophomore Sarah Edmond leads the squad in scoring (13.4 ppg), which is eighth in the conference, while fellow classmate Jayla Myles seeks her fourth consecutive double-double.

FLORIDA A&M

A month ago (Jan. 3), FAMU won the first meeting between the Rattlers and Howard, 74-59, in Tallahassee, Fla. In that contest, senior Tajzhane Dopson fell two boards shy of a double-double, finishing with team-highs in points (12) and rebounds (8). Since then, Florida A&M has lost six-out-of-seven with their lone victory coming versus Delaware State, 59-54.

MORGAN STATE

Before Monday's clash, the Lady Bears travel to Norfolk, Va., where the Norfolk State Spartans await. Morgan State ended a season-long four-game losing skid, following a 65-55 victory over South Carolina State Monday (Jan. 28). This season, MSU has a 9-1 mark inside the Hill Field House with their only loss coming against Delaware State, 62-54. Morgan State head coach Ed Davis Jr. has already guided the Lady Bears to 11 wins through their first 21 games. A year ago, the MSU did not record their ninth and final win until the 29th game of the season.

LAST TIMEOUT

Last Saturday (Jan. 27), HU fell on the road at Maryland Eastern Shore, 58-52, inside the William P. Hytche Athletic Center.

Myles led the way, posting her third straight double-double with 12 boards and 10 points while registering five blocks. Fellow classmate Ayonna Williams had a game-high 15 points on 50-percent (7-of-14) shooting in a losing effort.
