Howard Women’s Basketball Set for Matchup at Cincinnati

December 21, 2018 --- The Howard University women's basketball team will visit the University of Cincinnati for a 7 p.m. matchup today.

Last Timeout
Howard women's basketball dropped its last home game to Mercer, 85-70. Howard shot just 27% (12-of-43) from the field in the first half. In the second haf the Bison improved their shooting percentage to 48.4%. Jayla Thornton led the Bison with 20 points on 6-of-15 shooting, including 4-of-8 from the three-point line. Junior Ayonna Williams added 14 points and seven rebounds.

Game Preview
This is the third meeting between Cincinnati and Howard. The Bison have only won the first meeting between the two teams. The Bearcats have taken the last two games. In their last matchup the Bearcats won, 87-53, on their home court.  

Cincinnati and Howard have near matching records. The Bearcats are 7-5 and the Bison are 7-4. Cincinnati does well when hosting, winning six of their seven at home this season.

The Bearcats are averaging 65.3 points per game to Howard's 72.4. The Bearcats have allowed their opponents to shoot 62.3 ppg to the Bison's allowance of 67.4. Cincinnati's top scorer is IImar'I Thomas, averaging 11.1 ppg. Howard is led by Sarah Edmond. Edmond averages 17.3 points per game. Freshman Krislyn Marsh leads the team in rebounds, averaging 8.3 rebounds per game.

Upcoming Schedule
