Howard Women’s Basketball Travels to Fairleigh Dickinson Seeking to Improve to 3-2


WASHINGTON -- The Howard University women's basketball team travels to Hackensack, New Jersey on Sunday to compete against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights. Game time is noon in the Fairleigh Dickinson University Rothman Center.

LAST TIMEOUT
The Bison recently lost to the Siena Saints in their last home game on November 19. The Bison fell to a 2-2 record after leading most of the game but losing the battle at the end of the stretch. Final score was 81-86.

Three Bison had double figures and season highs in the game versus Siena. Junior guard Sarah Edmond had a season high 27 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Jayla Thornton also posted a season high 23 points and six rebounds. Freshman Krislyn Marsh put up 12 points and 13 rebounds.

SERIES
Howard and FDU have met eight times since 1981. The series is tied with each team winning four games. The Bison have won the the last two games.

GAME PREVIEW
FDU is second in the Northeast Conference (NEC) standings, tied with Sacred Heart. Howard is tied in second place of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Both teams have a 2-2 record with the Bison coming off of their second loss and the Knights fresh off of a win. Both teams defeated the New Jersey Institute of Technology this season. FDU has won 10 of its last 15 non-conference games by an average of more than 16 points per game. The Bison are off to a better start than the previous season. Last year they were 0-5 until the meetup against FDU which gave them their first win of the season. Statistically the Bison are outscoring their opponents by a 1.2 point margin, 72.5-71.3.FDU is also outscoring their opponents 63.8-60.5. Howard has the edge on rebounds per game. For the Bison it's 48 versus 47.8 for their opponents. The Knights are 36-43.5 for rebounds versus opponents.
