NORFOLK, Va. (November 20, 2018) – Howard University's junior guard
Charles Williams (Richmond, Va.) and freshman center
Akuwovo Ogheneyole (Delta State, Nigeria) took home Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) weekly accolades for their efforts against Regent (Nov. 13), UMass (Nov. 16), and Southern Illinois (Nov. 19). The announcement came Tuesday.
Williams was selected Co-MEAC Player of the Week while Ogheneyole claimed the league's top rookie honors.
In three games, Williams averaged 21 points while shooting 53-percent (23-of-43), including 52-percent (12-of-23) from beyond the arc. Defensively, the Virginia native posted 2.6 steals per contest, including four at Southern Illinois.
Ogheneyole registered his first collegiate double-double, 14 boards and 11 points, in the road win at UMass. Before that game, the Nigeria product nearly produced another double-double against Regent with nine points and eight rebounds.
Newcomer
Andre Toure (Paris, France) received honorable mention after averaging 2.5 blocks per game against Regent and Southern Illinois.
North Carolina Central's Raasean Davis earned the conference's defensive player of the week while teammate Randy Miller shared MEAC Player of the Week honors with Williams.

On Nov. 23-24, Howard goes to Little Rock, Ark. where they will compete in a four-team tourney as part of the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational.
