NORFOLK, Va. (January 23, 2018) – For the ninth time this season, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) declared Howard University's freshman guard
RJ Cole its rookie of the week. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
Cole continued his solid play as the Bison are now on a two-game winning streak after a pair of overtime wins over previously unbeaten North Carolina A&T State (NCAT) and North Carolina Central (NCCU). He averaged 26 points, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals. He also proved to be a threat from the outside as the 6-1 guard from Union, N.J. nailed eight three-pointers.
Charles Williams earned honorable mention after recording his fifth-straight 20-plus point performance in overtime wins over NCCU and NCAT.
